Every single day, millions of people slowly destroy their health without even realizing it. They fill their bodies with highly processed foods loaded with added sugars, excessive sodium, unhealthy fats, and ingredients they can’t even pronounce. They trade their long-term health for a few minutes of pleasure, then wonder why they’re exhausted, gaining weight, and struggling to feel good. The food industry spends billions making unhealthy products convenient, irresistible, and profitable. But here’s the painful truth: Just because something is sold as food doesn’t mean it’s nourishing your body.
Your body is the only home you will live in for your entire life. Yet people will spend more money maintaining their cars than protecting their own health. They’ll ignore what they eat for decades, then desperately search for answers when their bodies begin breaking down. You cannot expect to feel your best while constantly feeding yourself foods that work against your health. Diets high in ultra-processed foods are associated with increased risks of obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and other serious health problems.
Start taking back control. Replace sugary drinks with water. Eat more fresh vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish, lean meats, nuts, and other whole or minimally processed foods. Read the labels. Pay attention to what you’re putting into your body. You don’t have to change everything overnight. Start by replacing one unhealthy habit, then another. Remember, not every processed food is harmful, but making highly processed junk food the foundation of your diet can come at a serious cost.
God gave you one body, and caring for it is part of being a responsible steward of your life. “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” ā 1 Corinthians 10:31 (KJV).
Stop letting convenience make decisions your health will have to pay for. You cannot purchase yesterday’s health back tomorrow. Start respecting your body today, because the choices you make now will help shape the life you’re able to live later.
