To Those Who Serve

Military service members, firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and healthcare workers standing together in honor of service and sacrifice

Today, we pause to honor a group of people who rarely ask for recognition but deserve our deepest gratitude. The men and women of our military and our first responders willingly run toward situations most people spend their lives trying to avoid. While others seek safety, they step into uncertainty. While others run from danger, they move toward it. They answer calls in the middle of the night, leave their families behind, miss holidays, birthdays, and precious moments, all because someone needs help.

Many of us will never fully understand the sacrifices they make. We see the uniform, but we often do not see the long nights, the stress, the weight of responsibility, the memories they carry, or the burden of knowing that someone else’s life may depend on their decisions. Police officers, firefighters, paramedics, dispatchers, doctors, nurses, and members of our armed forces stand watch over communities, neighborhoods, and nations every single day. They often do so without applause, without recognition, and sometimes without thanks.

Some have paid the ultimate price.

Some never came home.

Some kissed their families goodbye and never had the opportunity to say hello again.

Their sacrifice should never be forgotten. Freedom has a cost. Safety has a cost. The ability to sleep peacefully at night has a cost. Throughout history, brave men and women have willingly carried that burden so others would not have to. Their courage reminds us that there are still people willing to put service above self and duty above comfort.

Here at Restored Life After, we want every first responder and every member of the military to know that you are appreciated. We are thankful for your service, your sacrifice, your courage, and your commitment. We pray for your protection. We pray for your families. We pray for your strength on the difficult days and your peace during the difficult nights. We pray for those carrying burdens nobody else can see and for those still healing from battles long after the uniforms come off.

The world can be loud with division, negativity, and criticism. Today, let us choose gratitude instead. Let us remember that there are still good people standing watch. There are still heroes among us. There are still men and women willing to answer the call when others cannot or will not.

To every first responder.

To every soldier.

To every veteran.

To every family that supports them.

Thank you.

You are seen.

You are appreciated.

And you are in our prayers.
