There was a time when I thought strength came from standing on my own. Life taught me something different. Every blessing I have, every lesson I’ve learned, every door that has opened, every storm I’ve survived, and every breath I take has come by the grace of God. I don’t just need Him on my worst days—I need Him on my best days. He is the reason I have hope when life falls apart, peace when the world feels chaotic, and purpose that reaches far beyond this temporary life.
When I look at this world with all its pain, death, injustice, and uncertainty, I honestly cannot imagine walking through it believing there is no God, no eternal purpose, no ultimate justice, and no hope beyond the grave. For me, that would be a lonely way to live. My faith doesn’t answer every question, but it gives me confidence that I never walk through life alone. It reminds me that suffering is not the end of the story, that every life has value, and that even the darkest night will one day give way to God’s light.
God has never promised me a life without hardship, but He has promised His presence through every hardship. When I am weak, He gives strength. When I fail, He offers grace. When I lose my way, He calls me back. I am not who I am because of my own ability. I am who I am because of His mercy. If everything I have today disappeared tomorrow, I would still have the greatest gift anyone could ever possess—the hope that is found in Jesus Christ.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6
