Q: What does the Bible say about dealing with stress?
Life will give you plenty to worry about.
Money. Family. Work. Health. The future. Things happening in the world that you cannot control.
The Bible never promises that following God means you will live without pressure.
It teaches you where to take the pressure.
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7 KJV
Notice the word casting.
God never intended for you to carry everything alone.
Some things require action.
Some things require patience.
And some things require you to finally admit:
This is beyond my control. God, I’m giving this to You.
Q: Why do we worry so much about tomorrow?
Because our minds want answers before tomorrow arrives.
We imagine conversations that haven’t happened.
Problems that haven’t happened.
Losses that haven’t happened.
And sometimes we suffer through something a hundred times in our minds that never happens once in real life.
Jesus said:
“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.” — Matthew 6:34 KJV
Jesus wasn’t teaching irresponsibility.
He was teaching us not to allow tomorrow’s possibilities to destroy today’s peace.
Prepare for tomorrow.
Don’t live there.
Q: What should I do when my mind won’t slow down?
Pray.
Not just a rushed prayer before bed.
Tell God exactly what is weighing on you.
Philippians 4:6–7 says:
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
And then comes the promise:
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Sometimes the situation doesn’t immediately change.
But the person carrying it does.
Q: What about problems I can actually do something about?
Then do something.
Biblical faith isn’t sitting still while your life falls apart.
If you have a financial problem, make a plan.
If you’ve hurt someone, apologize.
If something needs fixing, start fixing it.
If you need help, ask for it.
If you need rest, rest.
Pray like everything depends upon God…
then get up and handle what God has placed within your control.
Stress grows when we spend all our energy worrying about things we cannot change while ignoring the things we can.
Q: What if everything around me feels out of control?
Remember who isn’t.
God.
Psalm 46:10 says:
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
The world can shake.
People can change.
Money can disappear.
Plans can collapse.
Tomorrow can surprise you.
But none of those things remove God from His throne.
Sometimes faith is simply standing in the middle of chaos and saying:
I don’t understand what’s happening.
I don’t know what tomorrow holds.
But I know who holds me.
Q: What’s the biblical answer to stress?
Control what you can.
Release what you can’t.
Pray about everything.
Take life one day at a time.
And stop carrying tomorrow before it gets here.
You weren’t created to hold the weight of the entire world.
That’s God’s job.
Your job is to remain faithful today.
Then wake up tomorrow…
and do it again.
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7 KJV
Give God the weight.
Keep your faith.
And breathe.
