Q: When the world seems darker by the day, should Christians be afraid?
A: Look around and it’s easy to become discouraged. Wars. Violence. Hatred. Division. Corruption. Families breaking apart. People calling evil good and good evil. Sometimes it can feel as though the world is spinning completely out of control.
But never confuse a world in chaos with a God who has lost control.
God is still God.
“The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.” — Psalm 103:19 KJV
Nothing happening on this earth has surprised Him. Governments rise and fall. Leaders come and go. Nations change. Cultures change. Evil may appear powerful for a season—but God’s throne has never moved.
That doesn’t mean difficult times won’t come. Jesus never promised His followers an easy world. Scripture repeatedly warns us that darkness, persecution, deception and wickedness will exist.
But darkness does not mean God has disappeared.
Sometimes we become so focused on what the world is doing that we forget who is still sitting on the throne.
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10 KJV
You don’t have to understand everything happening around you to trust the One who does.
Stay informed—but don’t live terrified.
Prepare wisely—but don’t live consumed by fear.
Protect your family. Stand for truth. Pray. Obey God. Keep your faith strong.
And remember: evil never gets the final word. God does.
One day every kingdom, every powerful person, every hidden evil and every human life will answer to Him.
So when the world looks dark, don’t stare at the darkness until you forget the Light.
God hasn’t lost control.
He never did.
And He never will.
