Q: What should I do when fear starts controlling my life?
David gives us the answer:
“I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” — Psalm 34:4 KJV
A: Notice David didn’t say he never experienced fear. He knew fear. He knew danger. He knew what it felt like to be hunted, threatened and uncertain whether he would survive another day.
But David did something with his fear.
He sought the LORD.
That’s where many of us go wrong. When fear comes, we seek everything else first. We worry. We overthink. We imagine the worst. We ask everyone around us what they think.
Then, when nothing works, we finally pray.
David did the opposite.
He went to God.
And Scripture says something powerful: “He heard me.”
God wasn’t too busy. David wasn’t speaking into an empty sky. The Creator of everything heard the voice of one frightened man calling His name.
Then David says God “delivered me from all my fears.”
Sometimes God changes the situation.
Sometimes God changes you while you’re still standing in it.
Faith doesn’t mean you’ll never feel fear. Faith means fear no longer gets to decide what you do next.
Whatever you’re facing today, stop carrying it alone.
Seek the Lord.
Pray.
Trust Him.
Keep walking.
The storm may still be in front of you.
But you don’t have to face it alone.
