The Prison Within
Not all prisons have bars.
Some are silent.
Invisible.
Built slowly inside the mind.
From past mistakes.
From words spoken over us.
From moments we wish we could undo.
And before we realize it…
we are living inside thoughts that keep us trapped.
Telling ourselves we’re not enough.
That we’ve gone too far.
That things will never change.
But the truth is…
the strongest chains are not around our hands—
they are around our thinking.
There are people walking free in this world…
yet still imprisoned inside their own mind.
Held back by guilt.
Fear.
Shame.
Reliving the same thoughts over and over again.
And believing them.
But here is something powerful to remember:
Just because a thought feels real…
doesn’t mean it’s true.
You are not your worst moment.
You are not your past.
You are not the voice that tells you to stay down.
Freedom doesn’t always begin outside.
Sometimes it begins inside.
The moment you challenge the lie.
The moment you choose a different thought.
The moment you believe that your life can still become something more.
Because no matter what you’ve been through…
no matter what you’ve done…
no matter how long you’ve been carrying it…
You still have the ability to walk free.
And sometimes the first step out of the prison…
is realizing the door was never locked.
