TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF

Christian self-care through faith, rest, healthy boundaries, and putting God first while caring for your body and mind

Put God first. But after that, stop feeling guilty for making yourself a priority.

You spend so much of your life taking care of everyone else—solving problems, carrying burdens, answering calls, showing up, giving pieces of yourself away. Eventually, if you never stop to take care of the person doing all the giving, there won’t be much left to give.

Take care of your body. Protect your mind. Guard your peace. Get some rest. Walk away from people who constantly drain you. Learn to say no without writing a ten-page apology for it.

Even Jesus withdrew from the crowds to pray and rest. He understood something we often forget: you cannot continually pour from an empty vessel.

God didn’t give you this life so you could spend every day exhausted, miserable, and destroyed trying to keep everyone else comfortable.

God first. Take care of yourself second. Then give the world the strongest version of you—not what’s left of you.
