It’s easy to become so busy with life that we forget the greatest act of love the world has ever known. We worry about bills, careers, relationships, disappointments, and the endless distractions that fill our days, yet we rarely stop to remember what happened on a lonely hill outside Jerusalem. Jesus willingly carried a cross that belonged to us. He endured betrayal, humiliation, beatings, and unimaginable suffering—not because He deserved it, but because we did. Every nail, every wound, every drop of blood was the price of our redemption. The cross was not an accident. It was love in its purest form.
When you begin to understand what Christ truly gave, gratitude replaces entitlement. Pride gives way to humility. Anger softens into forgiveness. The One who had the power to call down the armies of heaven chose instead to remain on that cross so sinners could become children of God. He saw every failure you would ever have, every mistake you would ever make, and He loved you enough to stay. That is a love no human heart can fully comprehend.
So before you complain about another difficult day… remember the day Christ gave everything for you. Before you hold on to bitterness… remember the hands that were pierced to offer you forgiveness. Before you wonder if your life has value… remember that the Son of God believed you were worth dying for.
Never let the cross become ordinary.
Because the greatest gift you will ever receive…
Was purchased by the greatest sacrifice the world will ever know.
