Never Forget the Missing

A glowing candle beside a missing child poster, symbolizing hope, prayer, and the ongoing search for missing children and support for their families.

Some stories fade from the headlines after a few days.

Some tragedies disappear from the news cycle after a few weeks.

But for the parents of a missing child, the story never ends.

Every birthday is remembered.

Every holiday has an empty seat.

Every knock at the door causes the heart to race.

Every unknown phone call brings hope and fear at the same time.

While the world moves on, mothers and fathers continue searching. They continue praying. They continue wondering where their son or daughter is tonight. Most of us cannot imagine that kind of pain. The uncertainty. The sleepless nights. The questions that never seem to have answers.

That is why we must never forget the missing.

Behind every photograph on a poster is a family whose life was forever changed. Behind every name is a mother praying for one more hug, a father wishing for one more conversation, and loved ones desperately hoping for a miracle.

This is also why organizations that fight for missing and exploited children are so important. They become a voice for those who cannot speak. They bring resources, investigators, technology, awareness, and hope to families facing unimaginable circumstances. They stand in the gap when others have given up.

Organizations such as the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and the Tim Tebow Foundation continue to fight against child exploitation, trafficking, and the horrors that prey upon the most vulnerable among us. The Tim Tebow Foundation’s anti-human trafficking efforts focus on prevention, rescue, and survivor care, helping victims find hope and healing after unimaginable abuse.

As followers of Christ, we should never grow numb to the suffering of children. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me.” He valued them. Protected them. Loved them.

Perhaps today is a good day to pray.

Pray for the missing.

Pray for their families.

Pray for the investigators.

Pray for the organizations fighting for them.

And pray that every child still waiting to be found is brought safely home.

Because while the world may move on, a loving parent never does.
