If you’re going to be in a relationship, be faithful. It’s really that simple. Don’t tell someone you love them while secretly entertaining someone else. Don’t ask for loyalty while living a double life. Don’t expect honesty from the person beside you while you’re hiding messages, deleting conversations, telling lies, or keeping someone waiting in the shadows.

If you want the freedom to live like you’re single, stay single. There is nothing wrong with being alone until you’re ready to give someone the commitment they deserve. What’s wrong is promising someone your heart while giving pieces of it away behind their back. That’s not love. That’s hypocrisy.

A relationship doesn’t require perfection, but it does require trust, honesty, respect, and loyalty. If someone gives you their heart, don’t make them regret trusting you with it.

Stay faithful—or stay single. But don’t destroy someone else’s heart because you wanted the benefits of both.
