Sometimes, what hurts the most isn’t losing the person.
It’s losing the future you believed you were going to have with them.
The conversations that will never happen.
The memories that will never be made.
The vacations you planned.
The holidays you imagined.
Growing old together.
Watching your children grow.
The dreams you quietly built in your heart.
When someone leaves through betrayal, divorce, or death, it isn’t just the relationship that breaks.
A part of the future breaks with it.
That is why healing takes so long.
You aren’t only grieving the person.
You’re grieving the life you thought was waiting for you.
But this is where faith changes everything.
God has never been limited by the chapters that ended unexpectedly.
The door that closed in your life did not close His ability to lead you into something new. He is still able to restore your heart, strengthen your spirit, and give purpose to the days that lie ahead. What feels like the end of your story may simply be the place where God begins writing a chapter you never expected.
The Bible reminds us:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6
Today, don’t spend all of your strength mourning the future that never came.
Place your faith in the God who still holds your future.
Because sometimes the greatest blessing isn’t getting back the life you lost…
It’s discovering the life God was preparing for you all along.
